Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Youth Worker to join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of young individuals. The role is for 14 hours a week; however, we would look at a job share if one setting is preferred.
Detached youth work is in Warminster every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Monday and Friday sessions are from 17:45-19:45 hrs, and Tuesday and Thursday sessions run straight after our youth club sessions from 18:30-20:30 hrs.
Centre-based work occurs 39 weeks during term time only, working Tuesday-Thursday evenings. Tuesday in Warminster assists with our SEN session from 16:30-18:30, Wednesday in Westbury for our usual club session from 17:45-19:45, and Thursday in Warminster from 16:30-18:30 assisting with our regular session.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young people and possess experience in this area.
Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to young people
- Assist in implementing activities for youth
- Develop and implement programs that promote positive youth development
- Monitor and ensure the safety of all youth participants
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a nurturing environment for youth
- Maintain accurate records of youth participation and progress
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or youth in a formal setting (minimum of 1 year)
- Knowledge or experience in special education is a plus
- Ability to educate and engage with young individuals effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build trust with youth
- A background in youth work, mentoring, or a related field is preferred
