We are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Team Leader for our client in Derry, Northern Ireland. Job Summary As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling manufacturing processes. You will ensure that all direct employees comply with Health & Safety procedures and processes, and that goods and services are produced efficiently, to the correct specifications, at the right cost, and with the required quality. This role operates on a 24/7 shift pattern and reports directly to the Shift Performance Manager. Responsibilities: Ensure adherence to safe working practices at all times, including the use of PPE. Gain knowledge of Health & Safety procedures, work instructions, and associated documentation. Comply with all Health & Safety policies and actively contribute to promoting safe behaviour and systems of work. Support the Shift Performance Manager in delivering high-quality, risk-free products through the effective use of WCOM/Lean Manufacturing practices. Achieve shift production targets on time and to quality system standards. Diagnose problems and take corrective action. Keep the team informed about Gainshare metrics. Ensure that manufacturing personnel perform required quality inspections and resolve minor quality issues quickly and effectively. Escalate unresolved quality issues to the Quality representative. Coach and mentor team members, manage disciplinary and grievance issues, handle absence management, conduct investigations, perform performance appraisals, plan for succession, create positive partnerships, and supervise and motivate the team. Conduct team communications and meetings, provide constructive feedback, use visual management, and deliver regular performance presentations. Solve SAP-related problems accurately and timely. Adhere to schedules, adjust them as needed, and liaise with planning to ensure efficiency. Essential Criteria: 2 years' supervisory/management experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment. Evidence of using initiative to improve Performance and Health & safety compliance, demonstrating your leadership ability. Willingness to undertake rotational shifts with varying patterns dependent on business needs. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Desirable Criteria: SAP knowledge / experience Experience in Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement. Hours of Work: Rotation of shifts - average of 42 hours per week working a 5/2 shift pattern over 2 weeks. For example, 2 days one week, 5 days the following week, 2 nights one week, 5 nights the following week Salary & Benefits Salary - Competitive & DOE Company Benefits include: Holidays - 292 hours increasing to 301 hours after 2 complete years of service. The holiday year runs from 1 January to 31 December. This is included in the designated bank/public holidays and the holiday schedule reflects this.
