Job Description:
The DevOps Engineer is expected to work with our development teams to onboard our applications to the enterprise Horizon SDM tool set made up of JIRA/Jenkins/Artifactory/Ansible and other build/deploy automation tools. The successful candidate will design, implement, and operate CI/CD workflow for the applications that is both functional and technical to eliminate manual repetitive tasks while also being a strong Python developer. This is a hands-on role; it will require a strong desire and ability to learn new tools and technologies as well as to provide direction, expertise, and mentor team members in the use of DevOps tools and technology.
This role is responsible for configuring complex software delivery automation. Key responsibilities include ensuring software deployments are configured to meet access, ownership, and authentication standards, providing technical direction within a functional domain, modifying code for software deployment automation, and overseeing software promotion pipelines for complex/high availability applications following Continuous Delivery practices.
Responsibilities:
* Prioritize, propose, and implement new features and capabilities for CI/CD service platform that fosters increased automation for our releases.
* Collaborates with our Solutions and Software Architects on mid-term and long-term strategy for Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tool adoption efforts.
* Monitors and responds to aggregate alert trends across application and infrastructure key performance indicators (KPI) for our CI/CD solution.
* Responds to risk or audit identified issues with access control processes designed for compliance with firm separation of duties practices and software release management standards, and policies.
What we are looking for:
* A solid understanding of SDLC.
* Demonstratable experience in designing, developing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Bitbucket, Jenkins, Artifactory, Ansible, Ansible Tower and JIRA.
* Previous experience in Python OOP development. Able to communicate effectively both in written and verbal English.
* Able to support development teams in a fast-paced environment in critical situations.
* Able to multitask and have a sense of priorities.
* Experience with supporting applications.
* Experience with Agile development processes and tools.
Skills that will help:
* Experience with network technologies: Switching, Routing, Firewalling, Proxy, SDN, Overlay Networking.
* Strong expertise in Linux Administration.
