Job Title: Environmental Monitoring & Reporting Manager

Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week
Salary: circa £75,000 (+ car allowance), depending on skills and experience

Job Overview
Ensure the design and effective delivery of the environmental monitoring programme and compliance across wastewater and water operations, oversee and assure environmental reporting to the EA and drive compliance and performance across all environmental operations.
1. Accountable for the creation/delivery of the wastewater analytical and sampling programmes, to meet efficiently, the quality/compliance/business needs and regulatory requirements.
2. Accountable for the management and/or assurance of the overall company environmental reporting, including Environmental Performance Assessment (EPA) and Ofwat reporting.
3. Oversee the instrumentation information management process, equipment accreditation and monitoring of flow for MCERTS requirements.
4. Accountable for identification and investigation of atypical trends in wastewater performance monitoring.
5. Supports adherence with ISO9001 and ISO17025 standards and accountable for MCERTS accreditation standards and continuous improvement.
6. Responsible for providing competent technical support to operational staff during events, investigation of wastewater incidents/failures and completion of associated actions to ensure risks to public health are fully mitigated. Undertake role as Environmental Advisor for standby rota.
7. Input as required into monitoring and delivery of capital delivery programme for Water Industry National Environment Programme.
8. Responsible for liaising with the Regulators (EA, Natural England etc.) across all levels to develop successful relationships for the benefit of the Company.
9. Line manage a team of 4 direct reports.
About You
10. You will have significant experience in environmental regulation, reporting requirements and monitoring compliance.
11. Proven experience in a line management role within a technical environment.
12. Demonstration of management and leaderships skills with the ability to motivate and drive.
13. Can manage complex and sometimes incomplete data sets and come to effective conclusions.
14. Good understanding of the regulatory environment for water and wastewater operations e.g. Water Industry National Environment Programme (WINEP).
15. You will be a strategic thinker, forward planner with the ability to take an overview of company needs/targets.
Package
This role will be full time Monday to Friday with a hybrid approach to working between one of our central offices and home. We are offering a salary of circa £75,000 per annum depending on skills and experience as well as other benefits including:
