Interim Recycling & Waste Service Change Manager - 12-month contract
We are working with a District Council in the Southwest to source a Recycling & Waste Service Change Manager on an interim contract for a period of 12 months.
In this role, you will lead on project management and provide technical expertise and advice to develop and implement a recycling and waste services change project to ensure establishment of an ongoing, effective, efficient, and compliant waste management service. This will include project management of procurement and creation of new operating entities as appropriate.
You will manage complex workstreams relating to the recycling and waste services project, supporting organisational, financial, strategic, legal, procurement, and supplier arrangements.
You will work closely with relevant in-house expert officers/teams and external specialist support.
Candidate Requirements
1. Understanding/knowledge of the waste and recycling sector.
2. Proven experience of developing, managing, and monitoring resources and budgets, and delivering projects within agreed spending parameters.
3. Experience in procurement of major contracts within the waste sector.
4. Experience of interpreting financial and project information and managing resources to meet operational objectives.
5. Relevant professional qualification or membership (e.g. CIWM, CIPS, IEMA) or relevant experience of a level that is appropriate to the role.
6. A project/programme management qualification or accreditation (e.g. Prince2, MSP, APM) or relevant experience of a level that is appropriate to the role.
Hybrid working will be possible, but some on-site meetings will be required.
