Clinical Negligence 5yrs to Partner Designate, Leeds /West Yorkshire
My client is a multi-site brand with a strong client base across Yorkshire which supports both private client and commercial service lines. This includes Personal Injury and an attached specialist Clinical Negligence offering, both of which are claimant-focused and are very busy.
With foreseen changes at the top of the Clinical Negligence team, there is now scope to recruit someone who in the short term will become the Team Leader, so the prospects are substantial for someone who wants input into the direction of the firm's Clinical Negligence offering, including partnership prospects if that's important to you.
This is a very friendly and collegiate firm, so someone who wants to work with like-minded colleagues who have one another's back will fit in well here.
Working supported by two other team members, it is essential that you are technically confident in a range of complex Clinical Negligence matters, as this has been the focus of the team's work to date. The work is flowing, there is a full caseload to pick up on arrival, and the firm has every confidence in the resilience of this specialist area and its sustainability with their brand. They don't need someone to bring work.
Moving forward, you'll be able to evolve the strategy regarding the streams of work you'd like to take on, and also regarding recruitment to your unit. The firm and its management board are very much focused on growth, and the Clinical Negligence team is a valued part of that and will receive ongoing support and resources moving forward.
An exciting and unusual opportunity which is uncontested internally and which will hopefully appeal to an experienced Clinical Negligence lawyer (Solicitor or Legal Executive) who wants to be a bigger fish in a smaller pond and who'll enjoy a high level of autonomy.
Remuneration is up for discussion - the firm knows that it is a competitive market and in the first instance would value the opportunity for a discussion, be that a full-blown interview or something less formal at the outset.
