Job Purpose
Process requests for material masters within SAP and maintain the production master data.
Principal Accountabilities
1. Creation of material masters on SAP (item creation);
2. Periodic master data mass changes and the creation of characteristics and dependencies where necessary.
3. Maintenance of the data tables.
4. Maintenance of the routings and bills of material.
5. Creation and maintenance of special instructions documents, including the upkeep of the document listing.
6. Maintenance of SAP documentation (Word document);
7. Creation of info-records and source list for sub-contractors.
8. Correction of wrongly made declarations from production orders.
9. Work with SAP Coordinator to develop understanding of full SAP functionality.
10. Plus, additional ad-hoc responsibilities, e.g., Sample planning.
11. Items are raised within 24 hours of request.
12. Knowledge of new products or product changes is kept up to date.
13. Master data changes are made accurately and in a timely manner.
14. Data tables are maintained accurately.
15. Routings are entered accurately, so that there are no delays in planning.
16. Bills of material are entered accurately, so that costs are correctly recorded.
17. Special instructions are accurately created and maintained in a timely manner.
18. Special instructions document listing is up to date at all times;
19. SAP documentation (Word document) is accurately and concisely maintained in a timely manner.
20. Production order declaration discrepancies are corrected daily;
21. Knowledge of SAP functionality is enhanced through working with SAP Coordinator.
22. Ad-hoc responsibilities:
23. Orders are accurately entered onto sample database.
24. Samples are monitored to ensure they are sent to customer within two weeks of receipt of order.
25. Monthly report of samples produced/sent is generated in a concise and timely manner.
Skills required
1. Degree qualified in finance or supply chain desirable.
2. Logical thinker with attention to detail.
3. Good product knowledge.
4. Knowledge of the production process, quality and hygiene systems.
5. Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
6. Problem solving and decision-making skills.
7. Understanding of the basic principles of MRP.
8. Understanding of SAP and the integration of production master data with the other modules.
9. Safety awareness.
10. Ability to stay organised in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
