Your New Role
Working as a Shift Engineering Technician you will be an integral part of a team dedicated to providing best in class engineering support to the manufacturing operation. Your role is to optimise production performance, quality and minimise plant downtime through effective preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis and repairs.Whilst on shift your core duties will include, but are not limited to:
Provide engineering support / repair (breakdown, PM, improvement) to on-site manufacturing equipment • Provide sickness and holiday cover to support wider engineering team • Carry out CMMS scheduled PPM tasks to help minimalise equipment failure rates • Help to optimise the performance of all machinery, plant, buildings and services to minimise machine downtime and optimise OEE • Work alongside production colleagues to optimise process set up and control system configurations to achieve maximum yield and process control performance • Develop and work on effective preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis and repairs, responding timely and proactively to plant and equipment faults.
Through structured continuous improvement, devise initiatives to increase efficiencies and reduce costs and implement engineering projects as appropriate • Support the installation andmissioning of new plant and equipment • Adhere to thepany’s health, safety, environmental and personal standards policies • Ensure accurate and full record keeping of all work is carried out • Care for tools and equipment provided, ensuring that onpletion of a task that equipment and/or work area is left in a clean and safe condition • Work as part of an inter-dependent team with flexibility to take on all other reasonable tasks.
What You'll Need To Succeed
In order to be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate the following skills, experience and qualifications:
Essential:
Candidates should have undertaken an electrical engineering apprenticeship / training programme with a recognised UK qualification • A minimum of 3 years’ engineering experience in a manufacturing environment • Highly motivated and have the ability to perform in a highly challenging, expanding and pressurised environment • Excellentmunication skills in English (both written and oral) • Excellent problem-solving skills • IT Literate.
Desirable:
Experience of working in the food Industry • PLC experience • CIP knowledge • Mechanical skillset.
