Brief Description
The Engineering function determines the asset management specifications and engineering competencies required to maintain, renew, and enhance the railway network, so it can deliver the high performance levels that the business requires. As an Assistant Signal & Telecoms Maintenance Engineer, you will manage and direct the Technical Support Team to provide production, performance, assurance, technical, analytical, and data quality support to the Maintenance Engineering team.
About the role
The successful candidate will manage and direct the Technical support team to achieve business and functional objectives and meet key performance measures. A key part of this role will be to manage the development of individuals and the engagement of the team, ensuring staff safety and competence, as well as undertaking an agreed programme of surveillance, work quality, and asset condition checks.
You'll monitor asset performance, reliability, productivity, and efficiency, providing technical guidance and support, enabling survey and design work. You will manage the assurance and non-compliance process, undertaking technical inspections and providing local requirements to arrange track monitoring trains and receiving outputs. You must maintain the accuracy of systems, databases, and records, reviewing and approving method statements and plans for design and work activities.
