Job Title: Mulliner Quality Inspector
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mulliner Quality Inspector to join a specialist team responsible for ensuring world-class craftsmanship, quality, and finish across bespoke automotive products. The successful candidate will play a vital role in inspecting and approving components, assemblies, and completed vehicles to meet premium quality standards across a variety of unique and customised vehicle projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct detailed inspections of bespoke automotive parts, assemblies, and full vehicles for fit, finish, and basic functionality across multiple workshop and test facilities.
* Perform incoming parts inspection to defined standards and support receiving quality checks.
* Verify parts fitted to base models meet specific Mulliner quality and specification standards.
* Oversee and confirm the quality of repairs to ensure alignment with required standards.
* Support the inspection of Classic and Coachbuilt products in collaboration with the Quality Engineering team.
Operational Support
* Record all inspections and findings with detailed issue descriptions and recommended actions.
* Log quality concerns into internal tracking systems and provide regular updates and reports.
* Liaise with operations and logistics teams to communicate quality issues and support resolution planning.
* Contribute to daily defect analysis and reporting to the Quality Manager and other stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement & Health and Safety
* Proactively participate in problem-solving, recommending design or process improvements.
* Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and product quality.
* Promote and maintain high safety standards, participate in incident investigations, and support a safe working environment through 5S and PPE compliance.
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in a production or manufacturing quality inspection role, preferably within a bespoke or luxury environment.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.
* Team-focused with a strong eye for detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
* Familiarity with vehicle trim, assembly processes, and interpreting technical specifications.
Knowledge & Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a technical subject.
* GCSEs or equivalent in English and Mathematics.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Access).
* Ability to interpret audit guidelines and assess defect severity.
* Clean driving licence required.
* Product-specific driving qualification (training will be provided if not held).
Additional Information
This role supports a wide range of bespoke and special project operations, and you will be expected to demonstrate adaptability, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to craftsmanship. Occasional support for other team leads and managers will also be required.
