Job Overview
The role of the Regional Commercial Sales Manager will work with the Commercial Director and their teams to provide strategic commercial client management and sales activities for commercial food waste feedstocks into an area cluster of x5 STGP AD facilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Identify and secure sustainable sources of food waste feedstock for x5 allocated AD plants in the STGP fleet.
2. Negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure a consistent and commercially viable supply of food waste feedstock optimising value in the market.
3. Take responsibility for liquid feedstock input and associated seasonal variations, working with the commercial business team and other Regional Commercial Sales Managers to ensure that STGP AD facilities have the right type and volume of liquid input to enable processing.
4. Monitor feedstock quality and quantity to meet the operational needs of the AD facilities in the area, working with the commercial business team, public sector team, and counterpart Regional Commercial Sales Manager.
5. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the Region and nationally where required.
6. Monitor and report on financial performance of customer contracts, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements in the feedstock.
7. Ensure all feedstock procurement and management activities comply with relevant regulations and procurement standards and internal commercial governance.
8. Work with the other Regional Commercial Sales Manager in the delivery of Green Power commercial waste business strategy to supplement the overall commercial strategy to ensure that the food waste plants deliver and exceed their investment business cases.
9. Support the development and implementation of five-year feedstock management strategies and plans.
10. Host customer visits and tours of operating plants.
11. Assist in PR and marketing exhibitions where required.
Key Requirements
1. 5+ years’ experience in the waste sector undertaking B2B or B2C sales and account management, (including national accounts).
2. Qualified to degree level or equivalent.
3. Strong commercial background with practical experience in securing food and/or garden waste contracts or other waste related feedstocks and managing supplier relationships.
4. Ability to promote an organisation externally within their sector and to customers.
5. Knowledge of waste and recycling legislation and governance such as ABP legislation.
6. Full UK Driving Licence.
