The RGS Guildford, Qatar is an all-through British school offering a co-educational British curriculum for children aged 3 to 18. The School opened in September 2016, and now welcomes over 785 students to its campus which is just 20 minutes from the Pearl and the new Lusail city. Students follow the English Early Years Foundation Stage, the National Curriculum at Key Stages 1, 2, 3 and at Key Stage 4 a comprehensive range of IGCSE courses. At Post-16 the school offers a range of AS levels. About Role:
1. Teaching and Learning:
• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in Arabic and Islamic Studies for primary school students.
• Implement the British Curriculum effectively, ensuring alignment with school and MOE standards.
• Use innovative teaching methods and resources to enhance students’ language skills and religious understanding.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
2. Curriculum Development:
• Develop and adapt lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that align with the British Curriculum and MOE.
• Stay up-to-date with educational developments and incorporate best practices into teaching.
3. Classroom Management:
• Establish a positive and productive learning environment.
• Encourage student participation, engagement, and critical thinking.
• Maintain classroom discipline in accordance with school policies.
4. Student Assessment and Progress:
• Regularly assess, evaluate, and report student progress.
• Provide constructive feedback to students and parents to ensure ongoing development.
• Prepare progress reports and participate in parent-teacher meetings as needed.
5. Collaboration and Development:
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance teaching strategies and student outcomes.
• Attend staff meetings, workshops, and professional development sessions.
• Participate in school events and initiatives to promote cultural understanding and awareness.
Successful applicants must have:
• Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Language and Islamic Studies, or Education (specialized in teaching Arabic).
• Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in Arabic and Islamic Studies, preferably in international schools using the British Curriculum
• Proficient knowledge of Arabic language instruction and Islamic Studies content.
• Strong understanding of teaching methodologies for primary students.
• Ability to integrate modern teaching tools and technology into lessons.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
