About the role
It's an exciting time at Orica. Our Digital Solutions business is continually developing cutting-edge technologies which are changing the Mining and Infrastructure sectors as we know them.
Due to significant growth within our Digital Solutions business, we are delighted to announce that we are inviting applications for the exciting opportunity of Engineer - Manufacturing Technology.
Working alongside our friendly and supportive team in our offices in Tewkesbury, United Kingdom, the primary responsibility of the Engineer - Manufacturing Technology is to manage all Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Motivation outcomes and the associated improvement strategies. We are open to offering relocation assistance for the right candidate who shares our core values and our vision.
What you will be doing
1. Managing, motivating, mentoring, training and developing a talented Orica Digital production and technical team;
2. Deliver the final product that meets the scheduled volume demand and QA/QC requirements;
3. Supporting all stakeholders in R&D, Supply Chain, Production and Manufacturing in delivering the overall business objectives;
4. Preparing, reviewing, and updating process documentation and standard operating procedures and special test procedures as directed for the existing product range;
5. Assist in the implementation of a new ERP system, leading to the loading and verification of BOMs to ensure that engineering changes are updated throughout.
What you will bring
1. Min of 5 years' experience post professional qualification and direct people management;
2. Proven leadership and collaborative approach in the development of the direction and operations of the workstream;
3. Strong experience in the best practice PCBA and small batch electromechanical assembly manufacturing;
4. Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders;
5. Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma initiatives would be desirable, but not essential;
6. Experience in implementing process improvement initiatives;
7. Demonstrated skills associated with stakeholder management and building strong vendor relationships;
8. First-hand Production scheduling experience.
