Main duties of the job
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will join an experienced team at the Avalon Centre, a purpose-built neurological facility, to provide care and support to service users with acquired brain injuries and challenging, complex needs. Your duties will include ward rounds, analyzing behaviors, updating patient records, and assisting with personal care. This role requires a positive attitude, compassion, resilience, and vigilance to navigate the rewarding yet challenging environment. The shift pattern is 12.5 hours a day, 3-4 days a week, including days, nights, and weekends.
Job responsibilities
You will join an inclusive and supportive team that works well together to provide care to service users who have neurological injuries, have challenging and complex needs and require a neurobehavioral rehabilitation programme. Your day-to-day will include ward rounds, analysing behaviours and adapting care accordingly with colleagues, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene. It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you’ve made someone’s life better.

Location: The Avalon Centre, Edison Park Hindle Way, Swindon, Wiltshire, SN3 3RT You will be working at The Avalon Centre, a purpose-built neurological centre for men and women over the age of 18 years, who have an acquired brain injury. The centre has been designed specifically to support people who, because of their injury, have challenging and complex needs and require a neurobehavioral rehabilitation programme.

Qualifications
* No specific qualifications are required, but experience as a Healthcare Assistant in the UK is preferred.
