About the Role
* As a Field Service Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing cutting-edge end-of-line packaging and automation equipment. Your expertise will help our customers minimize downtime and ensure their production lines operate at peak efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on end-of-line automation equipment, including conveyors, palletizers, case packers, stretch wrappers, and robotics.
* Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and PLC-related issues to ensure smooth operation.
* Manage the sales and ordering of spare parts and other essential items for customers to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance
* Conduct software updates and parameter adjustments on automated machinery.
* Provide on-site training and technical support to customers, enhancing their understanding of the equipment.
* Maintain an organized spare parts inventory and manage tools required for service tasks.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and perform risk assessments during site visits.
* Complete accurate service reports, timesheets, and customer communication logs.
* Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering and sales, to address customer needs and recommend system upgrades or optimizations.
Who You Are
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
* A strong background in mechanical, electrical, or electro-mechanical engineering (formal qualifications preferred).
* Hands-on experience with industrial machinery, preferably in automation or packaging systems.
* Proficiency in diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and PLC control issues.
* Comfortable working independently in customer environments, managing priorities and deadlines.
* Strong computer skills, including familiarity with troubleshooting software and tools.
* Willingness to travel extensively, including overnight stays when required.
* Driven to identify sales opportunities and motivated by earning additional commission.
Preferred (but not essential):
* Experience working with end-of-line packaging equipment.
* Knowledge of robotics, servo drives, and automated control systems.
* Familiarity with PLC programming and diagnostics (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley).
* Test and inspection qualifications or equivalent certifications.
