Our Client is an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) Service Company whose portfolio includes a diverse array of clients.
Their experience spans from small data centres and offices to the larger scale requirements of major corporations across the banking sector, telecoms industry, public service providers and government departments.
We are looking for a conscientious and motivated UPS field service engineer with extensive UPS service experience, preferably of multi-vendor UPS systems, to join our specialist team of UPS service professionals.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The role requires the engineer to attend site independently to conduct UPS maintenance and repairs. When workshop repair works are required you will be expected to attend our workshop to carry these out.
The role will require the successful candidate to travel to various sites throughout the U.K. to perform preventative UPS maintenance, repairs and other UPS services offered by the Company. You will be required to work a callout rota, typically 1 week in 4 on call.
* UPS servicing and maintenance at customer premises
* Conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times
* Take the lead during multi-engineer site work / projects
* Take charge of permits to work
* Mentor less senior engineers and provide guidance and technical support to help them progress
* Liaise with the office on engineering matters and provide relevant feedback
* Provide technical support
* UPS fault finding
* UPS battery replacement / battery builds
* Take team lead
* Additional Duties: Call Out Rota
Some of the Company’s clients are high security sites and will require high levels of security clearance and vetting in order to be able to obtain access.
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
The candidate must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience and be expected to perform the following tasks:
* Battery builds / impedance testing
* UPS maintenance
* UPS Commissioning
* UPS installations
* UPS fault finding
* UPS remedial works
* Load bank testing
The successful candidate will be based from home and required to travel to sites throughout the UK. A car, laptop and mobile phone will be provided, and expenses paid in accordance with company policy.
The role involves a significant amount of driving throughout the UK and the preferred candidate will be motivated and hardworking. Regular weekend work availability is a necessity, and we operate a call out Rota (typically 1 week in 4). The ideal candidate will be flexible and located with easy access to the M1 corridor and M25, but applicants based in other locations will be considered.
Starting basic salary up to £35,000 and will vary according to experience and relevant qualifications of the successful applicant. There will be ample opportunity to work overtime.
Candidates would ideally satisfy the following criteria:
* Have obtained a degree (MSc desirable and will attract higher pay bracket) or HND/HNC in electronic and electrical engineering – other qualifications / backgrounds will be considered if the applicant has extensive experience as a UPS engineer.
* Knowledge of inverters, converters, switchgear, and rectifiers would be extremely beneficial.
* Have the right to work in the UK on a permanent and full-time basis
* Full and clean UK Driving Licence
* No criminal record / pass full CRB check
* Minimum of 5 years’ industry experience
