Top of Form Bottom of Form About the role: As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) in this specialist setting, you will play a pivotal role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. You will be expected to lead whole-class lessons, provide targeted small-group interventions and support individual students to reach their full potential. Working collaboratively with teachers, you will assist in planning, delivering and assessing learning activities, ensuring high standards of education and engagement. Responsibilities of the Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA): Deliver pre-prepared lessons and supervise whole classes when required. Provide targeted support to students with diverse learning needs. Assist in the development of lesson plans and classroom activities. Offer one-to-one and small-group support to reinforce learning objectives. Manage classroom behaviour and uphold school policies. Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers. Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment. Uphold safeguarding and welfare policies, ensuring the well-being of all students. Requirements of the Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA): Previous experience as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or a Teaching Assistant with substantial classroom leadership experience. A recognised HLTA qualification or equivalent Level 4 Teaching Assistant certification. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to deliver whole-class lessons confidently. Experience in supporting differentiated learning, including working with SEN students. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, motivate and inspire students. A dedicated and proactive approach, ensuring high standards of education and support. A commitment to inclusive learning, student well-being and academic excellence. Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
