Health & Safety Manager
This is a brilliant opportunity for someone seeking stability and a significant role in the health and safety team. The company is looking for a Health & Safety Manager to oversee both the UK and international branches. This position arises from strategic growth and reports to the Compliance Director, working closely with the Operations Director, both approachable and collaborative leaders.
Responsibilities include:
1. Lead and manage best practices in HSEQ matters.
2. Advise and support Managers and Supervisors in fulfilling their HSEQ responsibilities as per legislation and company policies.
3. Implement HSEQ controls to ensure awareness of statutory duties among personnel and provide guidance as needed.
4. Collaborate with site management to ensure compliance with Construction HSEQ Plans and support project teams in plan development.
5. Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure adherence to policies and statutory requirements.
6. Deliver site inductions and relevant training.
7. Lead investigations into accidents/incidents, analyze data, and recommend preventive measures.
8. Manage HSEQ data, prepare reports, and identify trends.
9. Develop and execute HSEQ campaigns and improvement initiatives.
10. Create and review processes and documentation to ensure compliance.
11. Identify HSEQ issues for projects and establish appropriate controls.
12. Manage permits, licenses, and exemptions related to HSEQ.
13. Support and participate in internal and external audits.
14. Contribute to pre-qualification, tender, and HSEQ award documentation.
15. Terminate work if HSEQ concerns arise.
16. Distribute HSEQ information to relevant staff.
Requirements
Experience in civil engineering projects, preferably highways, is preferred but not essential. A background in site work transitioning into a health & safety role is ideal. Candidates should hold qualifications such as NEBOSH in Construction. We seek a dedicated, adaptable, approachable, and hands-on professional.
Rewards and Benefits
