About the role
At Northumbrian Water Group (covering the North East, Essex & Suffolk), we’re preparing for a £6 billion investment programme running from 2025 to 2030, aiming to increase the resilience of our water and wastewater services while restoring and regenerating our environment.
To help achieve this we’re seeking graduates to join our Building Futures Graduate Scheme, an exciting two-year opportunity to embark on a structured career path with us.
You will gain valuable experience, training, and mentorship as you embark on four rotational placements within our Assets Directorate [who are responsible for designing, constructing & maintaining NWG’s incredible breadth & depth of assets, facilities & equipment] across teams like Integrated Delivery Services, PMO, Capital Delivery, Asset Intelligence, Maintenance, Engineering, and Transformation.
To help further your development you will take on stretching assignments during placements where you will be accountable for impactful projects. Regular workshops will be delivered to allow you to develop a variety of transferrable skills and you will have an opportunity to network throughout the programme by attending industry events.

About you
You will be studying an Engineering, Environmental, Project Management, Business or Science degree and be on track to achieve a 2:1 or above, and are looking for a great organisation to launch your career, where you can learn, are valued and where you can make a positive difference to the environment.
Those studying degrees in wider fields will also be considered, we’re looking for you to demonstrate a passion towards learning, this includes taking on challenges and seeking feedback to improve.
As you will be working within a team, we’re looking for you to be able to work collaboratively, using your proven communication skills to engage. You will also participate in assignments, structured training, and other opportunities across the organisation.
Innovation is at the heart of everything we do, which means we would love you to bring new ideas and ways of working to help us improve. This will help contribute to our vision to be national leader.
It would be useful if you had a manual driving licence for this role.
