Maths Tutor
Location: Rochdale and Bury Area
Salary: Up to £26,000 (Could be increased with extensive experience)
Benefits: 25 Days Holiday plus Bank Holidays
This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity for a Maths Tutor to plan, deliver, and assess effective Functional Skills and GCSE lessons to maximize learner progress and achievement.
We are dedicated to supporting businesses and individuals with apprenticeships, higher education, and commercial training, helping people develop their skills across diverse sectors to enhance career prospects.
Applicants can consider part-time, term-time, or full-time positions. The role may cover Rochdale or Bury, or both, depending on individual circumstances, and we can be flexible.
You will work with class sizes of up to 15.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct initial and ongoing assessments in line with Company policy to inform learner placement on effective programmes.
2. Use IA outcomes and available information to personalize learning experiences for individuals.
3. Adopt inclusive strategies to support and challenge all learners, including those with SEND and other needs.
4. Effectively manage learner behavior and classroom climate to create a secure and positive learning environment.
5. Assess learners' work in line with Company policy, using diagnostic and personalized feedback to drive progress toward examinations.
6. Track and monitor progress of individuals and groups to ensure rapid and sustained improvement.
7. Identify learners at risk of underachievement and liaise with colleagues for timely intervention.
8. Contribute to the Maths team’s development by collaborating on resources and pedagogy.
9. Deliver good and outstanding teaching across various centers and to groups of differing sizes, as directed.

Skills Required:
1. Experience of teaching Functional Skills and GCSE in challenging environments.
2. Experience in planning, teaching, and assessment for progress.
3. Subject-specific and teaching qualifications appropriate to the role.
4. Able to motivate disengaged learners and plan engaging, inclusive lessons.
5. Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
6. Genuine commitment to improving the prospects of young and adult learners.
7. Recent experience of successful teaching of 'hard to reach' learners.
8. Willingness to travel and work flexibly across various sites to meet business needs.
