If appointed, you will play your part in enabling people with the most significant walking impairments or those at risk in traffic to maintain or regain a degree of mobility independence. Under the leadership of the Lead Consultant, you will have a range of responsibilities including: Assessing Blue Badge applications for adults, children and older people (unable or virtually unable to walk/are a risk in traffic). Communicating outcomes/recommendations to applicants and to Mobility Assessor’s where further assessments/reviews be required. Monitoring caseloads and maintaining accurate electronic records of actions and outcomes. Providing support, expertise and knowledge to Mobility Assessor and other members of the Blue Badge Team. Applying new and current legislation impacting on service delivery and development of the Blue Badge service. Contributing to and devising strategies and plans to accommodate changes. The Person If you meet the essential qualification criteria outlined below, we would like to hear from you: You should have an SVQ level 3 qualification or equivalent (please note that relevant work experience will be considered). You should have considerable experience of working within a Healthcare environment e.g. Occupational Therapist support, Physiotherapy support or similar Health Care supporting role. You should be a confident user of IT applications, showing ability to use packages effectively and analyse information. You should be able to work as part of a team or on your own as required. Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland.
