Main duties of the job
With advanced clinical knowledge, interpersonal skills, & leadership qualities you will be responsible for the delivery of dietetics in diabetes, lipid disorders, and respiratory weight management, across the two sites. You'll support individuals to self-manage conditions such as Type 1, Type 2, Type 3c or gestational diabetes and deliver structured education such as DAFNE or sessions on Carbohydrate Counting. You'll work with the Diabetes MDT to offer the latest technology including Continuous Glucose Monitoring or Open & Closed Loop Pumps. The team also provides a lipid MDT clinic & weight management services for the Sleep & Asthma MDT, with opportunities to develop dietetic services for the Northwest Ventilation Service. Evaluating & improving services ensures effective, evidence-based, quality care. As a highly experienced autonomous practitioner with a recognised dietetics degree or equivalent & registered with the HCPC, you'll assess the nutritional condition of patients with complex needs, make comprehensive dietetic diagnoses, request tests, give treatment options, & provide evidence-based advice. As the consistent practitioner, you'll review outcomes, & adapt care plans to facilitate patient-centred goals.
As a nutritional expert, you'll provide supervision to post & pre-registration dietitians, proposing learning opportunities, contributing to competency achievement, & coaching them to advance their own professional practice.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Current registration with HCPC
* Qualification or evidence of working towards a Masters in area of specialisation
* Higher level degree e.g. Masters in relevant clinical area or in Clinical Leadership/Management/Education
* Teaching qualification
* Current membership of BDA
Experience
* In-depth knowledge to expert level of nutrition support, including complex enteral and parenteral feeding regimes and the specific requirements of hypercatabolic ICU patients
* Experience in a clinical supervisory role, providing support and guidance to junior members of staff and students
* Evidence of contribution to service improvement
* Evidence of CPD to comply with HPC requirements for registration
* Experience of policy and/or protocol development
* Experience in development and delivery of teaching and learning programmes at under and post-graduate level
* Evidence of successful change management
* Experience of audit
* Experience of managing a team including recruitment, selection and appraisal
* Clinical experience within critical care, burns, tissue viability or cardiothoracic including transplant
* Clinical research experience
