Job Summary:
Are you looking for a new and challenging career and wanting to develop your clinical skills in the palliative care setting? Our children's hospice is recruiting registered children's/Learning Disabilities Nurses to work in our wonderful setting recently rated Good by the CQC. Following the development of our children's services, we are in need of Registered Nurses to join our team in providing excellent care in our 6 bedded unit.
We are looking for experienced nurses interested in Palliative care, alongside experience of working with children with complex needs. You will be part of a highly competent, motivated, and skilled team of Registered Nurses and Health Care Assistants who provide nursing care to children and young adults with a life-limiting condition.
Main Duties of the Job
You will have energy and enthusiasm, commitment, and the ability to successfully deal with the daily challenges of palliative care. In addition, you will need to:
* Be a Registered Children's or Learning Disabilities Nurse with experience of working with children/young adults with complex healthcare needs.
* Demonstrate appropriate and continued personal/professional development.
* Take the lead in patient care, linking in with community and specialist nurses, doctors, and the wider MDT.
* Contribute to the creation and sustaining of a friendly, welcoming, and caring environment in an informal nature, minimizing instructional practices.
A palliative care qualification and/or ENB 998/C&G 730 Teaching Certificate are desirable but not essential for the role.

Job Responsibilities
As an ideal candidate, you will need to be able to demonstrate a desire to develop and maintain your professional standards and excellent nursing care, whilst understanding and appreciating the needs of patients with life-limiting illnesses and the needs of their loved ones. Good communication skills, a high level of self-discipline, and self-motivation are a must. Flexibility is required to allow for a full range of shift cover. It is essential that you are able to deal with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.

Qualifications
* Registered children's/learning disabilities nurse with a minimum of 1 year experience.
* Teaching certificate.
Experience
* Minimum of 1 year post qualification in children's/learning disabilities nursing.
* Experience as nurse in charge of shift.
* Experience of Paediatric Palliative care.
