Job Overview
The Technical Specialist will play a critical role in providing support to LKQ customers on a wide range of specialties from Painter training, Bodyshop Processes, Product innovation; just some examples but the list goes on. These things all enhance the Bodyshop’s KPI’s and efficiencies and can be very rewarding when you look at how you have supported and developed those customers. You will be the face of LKQ in building relationships with our valued customers.
You would be involved in the latest product innovation from market-leading manufacturers as well as LKQ’s own brands, getting training on the latest innovation, then taking these skills and supporting and implementing them into the bodyshop world. You would be showing customers new opportunities to solve their current challenges.
You would expand your current personal knowledge on products and processes as we get involved with many market-leading manufacturers, businesses, and organizations all bringing new innovation to the marketplace. A key focus for customers today is sustainability and this is an area we are continually working on and developing for our customers where you would be supporting the LKQ Academy out in the bodyshop arena.
No two days are ever the same in this role. You would be part of the ‘Biggest Technical team’ in the UK.

Key Responsibilities
1. To provide technical support to LKQ customers by winning new business, developing customers' KPI’s, new product conversion, and latest innovation.
2. To develop customers by showing and training on the latest innovation and best practices.
3. Supporting on product and color support.
4. To work with others (e.g., Suppliers, Manufacturers, Marketing, Procurement, Training, etc.) to enhance the technical offer to Key Accounts and Regional Accounts.
5. To start up new businesses, supporting ongoing unique product brands exclusively to LKQ.
6. To implement and demonstrate the financial advantage of adopting the LKQ group product and process that we can offer to LKQ customers.
7. To stay abreast of competitors/market/supplier activities in the day-to-day role.
8. Drive product growth by supporting LKQ commercial team plans.
9. Build and strengthen relationships to expand collision sales within LKQ.
10. Set and maintain high service standards, recognizing strong performance and addressing areas needing improvement.
11. Involved in developing our own people on internal training.
Skills and Experience
1. Minimum NVQ level 3, or 7 years practical experience of Market/Paint Refinish/Dry Ancillaries.
2. Good working knowledge of paint company product ranges & processes.
3. Good working knowledge of dry ancillary company ranges & processes.
4. Great communication skills, to build strong relationships with your colleagues, customers, and stakeholders.
5. Good IT skills.
6. Valid Full Driving License.
7. Organized and resourceful.
