Process Technician
Main missions and results
* Targets will include cycle times to match or improvement of costed cycle.
* New process launches as a support function into Manufacturing Engineering.
* Support on all customer R@R activities for new launch.
* Identify opportunities for cost savings i.e. cycle times, material usage, etc.
* Shop floor support for all technical issues.
* Support Process Engineers to review all process related documentation.
* Highlight any tooling or equipment issues & suggest / drive improvements.
* Carry out checks to settings from master parameter sheet against machine settings in memory.
* Support the first off procedure with Quality to ensure part/parts are correct for shift production.
* Make / suggest continual improvements to processes.
* Ensure all data relevant to process & or machine downtime is captured & recorded correctly (Shoplogix).
* You will be expected to show flexibility in your hours of work including any overtime as and when required.
* Update setting sheets when ‘relevant' changes were deemed necessary to produce low scrap and quality parts.
* A certain degree of flexibility in working hours whenever necessary to complete tasks.
* To be responsible for active deviations where the process is not adhered too and liaise with engineers to resolve issues to remove deviations.
* To monitor process performance (SPC) and understand root cause if process control is not being achieved.
* To support and complete all tool changes correctly and within the time frame set by plant.
* To complete robust Level 0 investigation on process and tooling related downtime.
* To support functions on equipment breakdowns (Maintenance, Man Eng etc).
* To support Quality in PPS reviews on customer and internal concerns.
* To support shopfloor meetings with all departments on a daily basis or as when scheduled by plant.
Preferred skills and experience
* Proven experience in automotive instrument panel in engineering department or 8 years' experience in automotive production.
* SPC training or 3 years' experience in automotive industry.
* Knowledge of customer requirements and company manufacturing product and processes.
* English required.
* Audits - ISO19011 training or 3 years in automotive production sector (ISO/TS 16949, IATF16949, VDA)
* Clear understanding and able to apply PFMEA logic to identify and manage risk/feasibility

What you'll get
You will receive a competitive salary ranging plus company holiday pay.
Working hours are 40 per week, alternating on a weekly basis between afternoons (14:00-22:00), mornings (06:00-14:00) and nights (22:00-06:00). Training will be given to the right candidate with the opportunity to join an expanding site within our organisation.
