We are well established, having been trading for over 25 years and are located on the Wokingham/Binfield borders close to the A329M. Due to our long-standing warehouseman moving on to pastures new we are currently looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and organised Warehouse Operative with previous warehouse/yard and forklift experience. About the Warehouse Operative Role This is a hands-on Job, as the warehouse is your sole responsibility, but you will need to be able to liaise and work with the other members of the team to ensure that the high standards our customers have come to expect are maintained. Experience/Knowledge/Skills Required Previous experience of working in a warehouse or builder's yard is essential. You will be able to demonstrate that you are competent in driving a forklift and must have a recent Counterbalance and a Bendi or Reach Forklift truck licence. You will be required to operate a reach & counterbalance Forklift Attention to detail. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels. You must speak, read, write and have a good understanding of English. A good level of numeracy and literacy. Adaptable and flexible in approach to your work. You should be able to lift up to 25kg bags and drums. Good manual handling practices and ability to work independently. Knowledge of Health & Safety and Manual handling would be ideal. Work efficiently and effectively as part of a small team. Have a valid UK driving licence and your own transport. Warehouse Operative Duties Include: Goods inwards: Receiving deliveries, checking quantities, documents and store in correct locations. Check for any damages, missing items. Unload lorries with fork lift truck. Goods outwards : Pick and pack customer orders accurately to meet deadlines and to the correct specification. Despatch orders with appropriate paperwork. Load lorries with fork lift truck. Stock Control: Regular stock takes. Keeping all paperwork up to date. Coordinate stock materials. Dealing with any stock discrepancies. Rotating stock. Manual tasks: Manually re-palletise bags, boxes and containers, move stock around by hand when required. Keep warehouse and forecourt clean and tidy. Weekly clean of warehouse floor, whilst maintaining high levels of health and safety standards. Some driving and general duties as required. Carry out daily Forklift inspections and monthly racking checks.
