This role requires you to be onsite out of our Rugby offices 5 days a week. Living a reasonable commutable distance is advisable.
This role requires security clearance, to be eligible for this you are required to be a resident of the UK for a minimum of 3 years.
Principal Duties/Key Accountabilities:
1. Development of test strategy and approach for Security projects, tooling, deployment, patching and definition verification & validation
2. Test planning including scheduling, resources, configuration and equipment to support the activities required to deliver testing within time, cost and quality constraints
3. Adherence to Motorola’s test policies, processes and standards
4. Creating and maintaining the Security Test Policy
5. ITHC scoping, execution and ingest, process and analyse security logging information in order to make recommendations for improvements
6. Working closely with the Patch Manger to develop, test and deploy to the forward schedule
7. O&M of test environments for which responsibility is held, ensuring all test equipment is ready for use and any defects are rectified
8. Ensure readiness for customer witnessed test events including but not limited to internal IT Health Checks (ITHC) and external Penetration (PEN) testing
9. Timely delivery of quality test documentation and reporting including test plans, test cases, test scripts and test reports
10. To have a thorough understanding of customer requirements and the test basis to ensure contractual obligations are satisfied and customer acceptance is achieved smoothly
11. Represent Motorola at customer and supplier meetings
12. Manage, schedule, co-ordinate and execute test activities to a level of quality expected by the public safety community
13. Accurately record test results and any observations ensuring actions are fully documented
14. Lead on the investigation and resolution of test related and technical issues in coordination with colleagues and external suppliers
15. Ensure testing is conducted in the most efficient manner without compromising on quality and timescales and identify areas for improvements
16. Attend/chair technical/ test meetings both by conference and face-to-face with customers/suppliers at all levels, this includes TRRs and TRMs
17. Identify and escalate business/project/programme risks taking a proactive approach to mitigation and reduction
18. Lead on handover to delivery and/or in-life support including all training and documentation required
19. The post holder is expected to be a subject matter expert in Security testing
20. Manage trials and pilots
21. Mentor other team members
22. Provide integration support
23. Direct and co-ordinate virtual teams on-site and manage local test schedules Management of local test teams and matrix management of virtual teams
24. Technical project management of Security test schedules and activities
25. Develop and maintain documentation related to Security Testing
26. Provide regular updates to SLT and wider teams regarding Security Testing
The post holder is expected to be, or to become a subject matter expert in testing and one or more technical areas.
27. Support the co-ordination to resolution of test issues/faults in liaison with colleagues, customers and suppliers.
28. Accommodation of short notice requests and changes to planned Schedules/workload.
29. Delivery of VV&T activities to facilitate customer acceptance.
Basic Requirements
Core Competencies/Technical Expertise:
30. ITSQB foundation
31. ITIL V3 foundation
32. CompTIA Security+
33. Have a good working knowledge of Tenable vulnerability Mgmt tool.
34. Have good working knowledge of Splunk Enterprise Security for SIEM.
35. Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
36. Proven practical experience of engineering & customer testing in an telecommunications/IT environment.
37. Proven practical experience of field testing mobile IP data and voice communications systems and fault diagnostics.
38. Proven practical experience of test automation using automation tools and using programming such as Python.
Personal Profile:
39. Expected to communicate at all levels internally and externally.
40. Aptitude and capability to understand the functionality of the solution under test and associated customer operations to a sufficient level to enable participation in technical discussions/operational evaluation.
41. Must be willing to travel throughout Great Britain, sometimes at short notice with some overnight says and out-of-hours working.
