Principal Urban Designer Job in Manchester, Greater Manchester
Principal Urban Designer job to be a part of a consultancy with an ambitious 3-year growth plan and a robust project pipeline across residential, renewable energy, and community sectors. Role & Responsibilities
* Develop masterplans for projects of varying sizes, from concept through outline and reserved matters planning applications.
* Take a lead role in the management of projects.
* Work on large-scale masterplans and residential layout design primarily and other complex projects across various sectors.
* Create strategic documents, such as vision statements and design codes, to guide and protect project development.
* Work directly with clients.
* Collaborate with the Urbanism team and manage small teams, while also working independently.
Required Skills & Experience
* Qualifications: Degree, Masters, or Diploma in Urban Design, Architecture, or a related field within the Built Environment.
* Possess a minimum of 4 years of UK project experience.
* Prior experience in private practice, consultancy, or commercial housebuilding; detailed design/RMA experience preferred.
* Proficiency in CAD software; knowledge of Vector Works and/or SketchUp is a plus.
* Familiarity with local authority guidelines and planning systems.
* Self-driven, detail-oriented, with strong communication skills for effective collaboration.
