Job overview
Band 6 Radiographer X-ray (Bolsover Street and Stanmore). Full time position.
Must have a minimum of 2 years NHS experience.
We are looking for a flexible and enthusiastic HCPC registered radiographer with good general X-ray experience to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will rotate between the two sites (Bolsover Street and Stanmore) with the main site being Bolsover street.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work across all areas of the X-ray department. Bolsover street has Outpatient x-ray only and Stanmore includes theatres, fluoroscopy, out-patients/in-patient main x-ray and the DXA unit. You will be expected to provide high quality diagnostic images whilst ensuring patient care and safety is paramount.
You will work closely with other members of the team including radiologists, radiographers and clinical support workers and will be expected to be a senior presence within the department and involved in the teaching of students and more junior members of staff.

Qualifications
* BSc Radiography or equivalent. A minimum of 2 years post registration NHS UK experience.
* Health and Care Professions Council Registration
* Evidence of CPD in line with your personal development plan.
* Post graduate courses relevant to orthopaedic imaging
* Radiation Protection Certificate.
* DXA experience
Experience
* A wide range of general radiographic experience with emphasis on orthopaedic (Theatre, Fluoroscopy, General) imaging
* Experience of coordinating the theatre, ward and X-ray services.
* Experience of working out of hours.
* Specialist knowledge and training of orthopaedic imaging procedures in order to manage clients with complex needs.
* Experience of performing routine x-ray equipment quality assurance tests.
* Experience of working within a multi-professional team. Experience in DEXA imaging.
* Experience of training junior staff, students and trainee assistant practitioners in the clinical setting.
* Experience of performing specialised orthopaedic research procedures.
Skills
* Good communication and interpersonal skills. Must have a patient-focused approach to work.
* General administrative skills. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
* Ability to work independently and within a multi-disciplinary team.
* Organisational and time management skills. Must be able to organize your own and others workload. Ability to prioritise workload.
* Good working knowledge of CRIS and PACS
Knowledge
* Must have a working knowledge of IR(ME)R and Health & Safety Regulations.
* An extensive knowledge of radiographic techniques and pathology with particular emphasis on orthopaedics.
* Knowledge of computers / RIS and PACS systems.
* Understanding of the need for confidentiality and data protection.
