The Recruitment Co are currently working with the Belfast Trust to recruit for a Band 2 Clerical Officer based in Musgrave Hospital.
Job Summary / Main Purpose
The post holder will provide typing and administrative support to the Orthopaedic Ward and to undertake administrative duties as directed by Team Lead.
Main Duties / Responsibilities
Retrieve and track patient case notes and X-ray/test results from the filing room, other offices and other hospitals as required.
1. Answering telephone and taking messages and enquiries from GP’s, patients and other health service staff, and action when appropriate.
2. File and maintain records in accordance with Trust policies and procedures
3. Printing and photocopying correspondence and other documentation as directed.
4. Checking stock levels e.g. stationery, booklets and leaflets and ensuring more supplies are ordered if required
5. Preparation of charts for ward rounds, file investigations, amalgamate old notes.
6. Collect patient charts, process charts to admin staff for dictation of letters.
7. Ensure all patients to ward are admitted and discharged accurately on PAS/Patient Centre.
8. District Nurse Referrals.
9. Bed Stats.
10. Ordering of transport.
11. Ensure supplies of admission packs are maintained.
12. Liaise with other medical records staff and staff in other departments.
13. Any other duties assigned from time to time.

Essential Criteria:
17. 4 GCSEs at Grades C or above (to include English Language) or equivalent and
18. 1 years’ experience in a clerical / administrative role.
19. Experience in the use of at least one
20. Microsoft office product or equivalent.
21. Ability to work as part of a Team.
22. Ability to use own initiative.
23. Good organisational skills with an ability to prioritise own workload.
24. Effective Communications skills to meet the needs of the post in full.
