Teacher of Mathematics
Liberton High School
Salary: £33,594- £50,589
Hours: 35 per week
Liberton High School is a non-denominational secondary school with roll of approximately 900 pupils, working in partnership with our associated primaries of Craigour Park, Gilmerton, Liberton and Prestonfield to serve our local community in South East Edinburgh.
We have a rising roll which is projected to peak at approximately 1100 within the next four years. We are excited to be moving into a new, purpose-built Community Campus, which is due to be completed in February 2026. The leadership team comprises of the Head Teacher, three Depute Head Teachers, and a Business Manager.
We have a complement of 65 teaching staff and 26 support staff. Liberton High School is a place where everybody matters and our dedicated staff are committed to supporting our young people to achieve their potential.
We are seeking a Teacher of Mathematics to join our successful Mathematics faculty, and to teach classes from the BGE and the Senior Phase. Our faculty offers courses in Mathematics, Applications of Mathematics, and Personal Finance.
We are looking for candidates who can offer the faculty the benefits of their experience and knowledge to compliment and develop existing teaching whilst introducing new ideas and strategies appropriate to our learners.
Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
