Salary: £60,000 - 80,000 + Car Allowance + Profit Bonus up to £10,000 + 5% Matched Pension + BUPA Cover
The Company
Our customer specializes in the provision of specialist mechanical systems used in various industrial sectors, providing heating, cooling, condensing, and compression of fluids and gases. The systems are bespoke, skid-mounted, comprising a combination of heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and the associated pipework and instrumentation required. Projects can range from £50,000 - £100,000 (standalone specialized equipment) up to £1 Million plus (full bespoke systems).
The company employs 800 globally and has seen significant growth, with turnover increasing from £30 million to £80 million. Their ambition is to double turnover in the next three to four years.
In the UK, the business focuses on sales and design with 30 employees and is targeting a new market in Petrochemical/Oil & Gas. They are looking for a Sales Manager to establish and grow this revenue stream.
The Role
The company has a strong market presence in sectors including waste to energy, hydrogen storage, and power generation. As part of their strategic growth, they aim to target the Petrochemical and Oil & Gas sectors, focusing on revenue growth in the UK and Europe.
The company has a clear three-year plan to grow revenue from £3 million to £12 million and needs an experienced Sales Manager to help deliver this plan. You will be working with existing customers and identifying new business targets, including OEM, EPC, and end-user customers.
The key focuses for the Sales Manager role will be:
1. Fleshing out the 30/60/90 day plan in more detail as you understand the market.
2. Generating RFQs for systems.
3. Building cost proposals for bids with company support as the role grows.
4. Leveraging cross-selling opportunities with existing customers.
5. Researching target customers for new business opportunities.
6. Attending industry trade shows to network and generate new contacts.
7. Approaching key contacts in customers to sell the business and its capabilities.
8. Ensuring projects are won at target profit levels (minimum 15%).
The Candidate
To be successful in your application for this Sales Manager role, you will need:
1. A sales background within Technical Sales in the Petrochemical or Oil & Gas Industry.
2. Experience selling systems containing heat exchangers or pressure vessels.
3. Experience selling skid-based mounted process-related systems.
4. A strong appetite for new business development.
5. A supporting qualification.
6. Strong negotiation skills.
7. Willingness to travel to the Derbyshire office one to two days a week (three days a week ideally during onboarding).
8. A solution-oriented and consultative sales style focused on value-added selling.
