This is an exciting opportunity for a Campus Support Assistant to join our Campus Support Team within Facilities Management. The Campus Support Team is a small and friendly team with a commitment to providing exceptional support to all on campus. Your main duties and responsibilities will include:
Completing regular high profile scheduled patrols of the campus and residential halls to provide reassurance to the University community, and to develop healthy supportive relationships with all campus users
Monitor and respond to critical alarms e.g. fire, intruder, personal and maintenance to effectively manage risk and to ensure the protection of life and property whilst providing reassurance to staff and students affected
To deal professionally and supportively in a calm manner with students on campus at all times.
Responding to students requesting help or support regarding any matter. This may also include attending first aid, wellbeing, MHFA or alcohol related incidents.
Providing fast and confident response to all emergency calls in accordance with standard operating procedures and ensure timely and accurate decisions are made if a referral or escalation to wellbeing is required.

Relevant work experience in a professional security or customer service focused role at an appropriate level gained in a voluntary, retail or public sector organisation
Experience and knowledge of modern methods of security operations; CCTV, access control, patrol monitoring and control room systems
Able to assess buildings and environments to ensure the Campus is a safe, secure and hospitable environment for all users
Able to demonstrate excellent judgement, initiative, tact and diplomacy in dealing with students, staff and members of the community
Able to communicate effectively and display a good level of oral and written communication. A basic level of GCSE (C or Grade 4) in English would be expected for this role
Able to work within a high pressured environment
Experience of working in an environment that is supportive and understands wellbeing requirements, Disability Confident
