Our Dumfries and Galloway Services provide support to young people and families throughout Dumfries and Galloway. Our support works alongside families using a strengths-based approach within the community and families' homes. This post will work with the Service Manager to support all our services with Dumfries and Galloway.
Intensive Family Support
We help children, young people, and families who are struggling to manage the challenges of day-to-day life. They may be affected by a range of issues, including drug and alcohol use. We support children from birth and work alongside whole families. We offer support that builds on existing strengths and interests, helping families find their own solutions and make new community connections.
Alternative Routes #Cashback
Alternative Routes supports young people aged 10-25 and their families, where young people are at risk of being involved in antisocial behaviours, offending, or reoffending. This service is delivered in the Dumfries, Annan, and Stranraer areas to the communities most affected by crime.
What we are looking for:
We are looking to recruit an Assistant Service Manager to join our team. You will work 37.5 hours per week. Although you will be supporting the management of the service, you will be expected to carry your own caseload. This post will be based in Stranraer; however, you will be expected to support families throughout the Dumfries and Galloway area. You will also be expected to work one day per week from our Dumfries Office. This post is initially offered on a fixed-term basis until 31st March 2026; however, we are actively seeking further funding to allow us to extend this contract.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about ensuring our young people live their best lives and have opportunities to develop and grow. You will contribute to the leadership, management, and development of the service for children, young people, and their families in line with agreed objectives and assist with service review and evaluation. You will hold a caseload and work alongside families, empowering them to lead positive change in their own lives.
We seek candidates who are experienced in working alongside vulnerable families to assess strengths and needs, as well as plan, deliver, and evaluate interventions and strategies that enable families to thrive. You will have experience of child and adult protection issues. Ideally, you will hold a relevant professional qualification at SCQF level 8 or above, together with relevant experience of working directly with children or young people and their families.
At Aberlour, we want to make sure every child and young person has the love, support, and opportunity they need to reach their potential. If you share the same vision, we want you to join our team.
What we offer:
As well as a supportive team and excellent training opportunities, we want all our employees to feel valued and rewarded for the vital work they do. When you work with us, we'll recognise your efforts with generous annual leave, an excellent employer pension scheme, and a range of deals and discounts across various retailers.
Aberlour is committed to the safeguarding and welfare of all our service users and uses a thorough and rigorous recruitment and selection process including PVG Scheme checks to ensure this commitment is not compromised.
