As CNC Machinist, you'll be responsible for setting and operating CNC machines in line with the delivery requirements of the business.
Your main responsibilities will be to:
1. Set and operate CNC machines using the set-up sheets, tooling/fixtures, and Edgecam programmes provided by our Production Engineering team.
2. Run machines in line with the speeds and feeds required whilst monitoring performance to ensure cycle times are met.
3. Carry out in-cycle parts inspections using measuring equipment including micrometres and verniers.
4. Identify non-conforming parts and report immediately, ensuring root cause is established, documented, and passed to Production Team Leaders.
5. Take responsibility for the quality and inspection of your work including ownership of cleaning and de-burring parts.
What you'll need as CNC Machinist:
1. Experience in all aspects of production machining, both manual and CNC, gained via an apprenticeship or equivalent programme of development.
2. Safety first attitude with understanding and experience of operating 5S plus safety practices.
3. Ability to flex priorities and duties depending on the needs of the business.
4. Experienced in all aspects of workshop practices including understanding of engineering drawings, proficient using micrometres and able to convert imperial to metric.
5. Ability to manage workload and deadlines effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
6. Collaborative approach to problem solving and implementing changes to ensure the business meets its production targets.
