We now seeking an exceptional leader on Anchors behalf to take on the role of Executive Director of Property & Assets, driving strategic change across their property portfolio and ensuring that Anchor continues to lead the way in providing outstanding homes for older people.
The Role
As Executive Director of Property & Assets, you will be a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. This is a highly strategic role that also requires a strong operational focus, ensuring that their property services meet the highest standards of compliance, safety, and resident satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
* Develop and implement a long-term asset management strategy that aligns with Anchor’s social purpose and business objectives.
* Lead on the investment and maintenance programme, ensuring that all homes meet regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
* Shape and deliver Anchor’s building safety and compliance agenda, ensuring that all legal and regulatory requirements are met or exceeded.
Asset Management and Investment
* Oversee a combined planned works and repairs budget of more than £150m per year.
* Ensure that Anchor’s estate management strategy protects the value of its assets while delivering high-quality, cost-effective housing solutions.
* Identify and implement opportunities for innovation, including digital solutions that improve repairs, maintenance, and asset management services.
Sustainability and Environmental Strategy
* Drive Anchor’s commitment to sustainability, ensuring that all properties contribute to the organisation’s net-zero ambitions.
* Lead on the delivery of energy-efficient homes, ensuring compliance with environmental targets and supporting residents to live well in sustainable communities.
Customer and Stakeholder Engagement
* Ensure that residents are fully engaged in shaping service delivery, with their feedback influencing property management decisions.
* Build strong partnerships with local authorities, regulators, contractors, and service providers to enhance Anchor’s property and asset services.
* Develop a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring that teams work collaboratively to enhance service excellence.
People Leadership and Organisational Culture
* Lead a team of approximately 230 colleagues, fostering a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
* Provide strong leadership to five direct reports, ensuring that teams are well-supported and empowered to deliver outstanding service.
* Promote diversity, inclusion, and learning, ensuring that teams reflect the values and social purpose of Anchor.
The Candidate
This is a significant leadership role, requiring a strategic thinker with deep expertise in property and asset management. We are looking for a leader who can shape and drive Anchor’s property strategy while ensuring that residents’ needs remain at the heart of all decision-making.
Key Experience and Skills:
* Proven executive-level leadership experience in a large, complex organisation, ideally within housing, property, or care sectors.
* A track record of delivering large-scale asset management, compliance, and investment programmes within a regulated environment.
* Strong financial acumen, with experience managing significant budgets and investment programmes.
* Deep understanding of property regulation, compliance, and building safety, ensuring that homes meet legal and environmental standards.
* Experience of leading major change and transformation programmes, embedding digital and operational improvements.
* A collaborative leadership style, with the ability to engage and influence at all levels, including senior stakeholders, regulators, and customers.
