Job summary The post holder will play a key role within the UHB Research Development & Innovation (RD&I) Healthcare Data Research team. They will work on important programmes which focus on creation and management of data research assets derived from structured and unstructured clinical and operational data. They will be responsible for extracting and curating large healthcare datasets for RD&I data projects which support the generation of new understandings and enhanced working practices relevant to our patients and the population. The post-holder will work closely with the UHB RD&I Data Research Technical Team and with the Data Research Programme Office and also collaborate with external research communities including regulators, universities, NHS organisations, charities and commercial third parties. Main duties, tasks & skills required The post holder will be expected to support the curation of large multi-dimensional, multi-modal healthcare datasets extracted from electronic healthcare records for the purpose of data research. These clinical datasets include tabular, images, letters, and reports. They will be responsible for identifying and analysing healthcare data sources, working with data providers and clinicians to understand data structures, relationships, and to produce high-quality associated documentation. The post holder is expected to be comfortable working within a highly secure strongly regulated environment. They should have demonstrable competence and experience with SQL and a programming language such as Python which will be used to extract, transform, and curate research data assets.
