Location: CTC Lympstone, Devon Salary: Competitive Permanent, Full time The Assistant Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the delivery of reactive and programmed maintenance services, ensuring full compliance with statutory legislation, MoD requirements, and health, safety, and environmental standards. This role requires managing the performance of teams and supply partners to consistently achieve key performance indicators for both reactive and planned maintenance within the designated area of responsibility. A significant aspect of the role includes ensuring all maintenance documentation is distributed promptly and accurately recorded against the appropriate assets within the CAFM system. The Assistant Facilities Manager is also tasked with maintaining the Establishment Specific Task Schedule (ESTS) and the Forward Additional Services Plan (FASP) for assigned sites. Oversight and management of statutory compliance across these sites are critical, including the mitigation of risks associated with overdue statutory and mandatory tasks, in consultation with DIO and HoE representatives. The role requires proactive identification of opportunities to support the MoD’s Net Zero carbon reduction targets, initiating billable works to help achieve these goals. Additionally, the Assistant Facilities Manager will serve as an on-call services manager as needed, ensuring consistent service delivery and operational readiness. What You Need To Do The Job Candidates for this position should possess an ONC or equivalent qualification in Building/Civil Engineering, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline, or have equivalent experience. Continuous professional development is required to maintain technical competence, particularly in areas like asbestos and legionella management. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the sites and assets within their area, possess emergency first aid and fire safety qualifications, and demonstrate experience working with Safe Systems of Work relevant to their discipline. An IOSH or equivalent qualification is also essential for success in this role. You should have experience of managing sub-contractors to be successful in your application.
