Job Description
What will you be doing?
We're seeking a talented individual to join our Valuation team either in London or Birmingham. The individual will be responsible for preparing a wide range of valuations for accounting, tax, and commercial purposes, in both contentious and non-contentious circumstances. In addition to business and share valuations, we also prepare valuations of intangible assets (often post-acquisition) and incentive scheme awards (e.g. share options and management share plans).
As Assistant Manager, some of your responsibilities will include:
* Taking responsibility for the various valuation assignments and preparing autonomously the analysis, execution, and reporting involved.
* Proactively mentoring junior team members.
* Actively participating in client discussions.
* Assisting managers, senior managers, and above with business development (i.e., proposals for new business).
* Assisting in preparing the scope of work and associated documentation.
This demanding role will allow exposure to a wide variety of valuation work, clients, and sectors, which will be highly rewarding to an individual who enjoys working on diverse projects and being involved at each step of the work assignment.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should:
* Education to degree level or equivalent.
* Completed or working towards a relevant professional qualification e.g. CFA or Chartered Accountant (ACA/CA/ACCA).
* Significant experience in business valuations gained within a leading advisory firm with international coverage and clients.
* Extensive experience in valuation methodologies and modelling and first-class valuation technical skills. History of providing these in a range of sectors and for a number of uses, including for accounting and commercial purposes such as share options, derivatives, and growth shares.
* Up-to-date working knowledge of key valuation methodologies and best practice modelling.
* Experience in managing a team of junior valuers.
* Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills - in the creation of our valuation models and in preparing relevant reports, a high competency in these formats is vital to provide a robust and creative output. Experience in business development and willingness to develop these skills.
* An ability to generate contacts within the industry and a willingness to develop such contacts.
* Fluency in business English - both written and oral.
