Job Purpose
* The main purpose of the Commissioning Officer - Learning Disability (LD) and Autism role is to facilitate the proficient tracking of progress within the Learning Disability and Autism strategies, and to actively oversee the successful execution of their respective action plans.
* The postholder will be proactively managing the operational aspects of all co-production initiatives associated with these strategies. This pivotal role guarantees that strategic decision-making is guided by a holistic understanding of service user needs, their perspectives, and a comprehensive analysis of local resources and capabilities to always ensure a user-centric, effective, and cost-efficient service delivery.
Key Duties/Accountabilities
* The Commissioning Officer role is integral to maintaining high standards and quality of care and will play a key role in facilitating the execution of both the Learning Disability Partnership Board and Autism Steering Group. This will involve ensuring the efficacy of their actions and providing comprehensive reporting on progresses within these frameworks to establish clear expectations and inform approaches for Learning Disability and Autism service design across all Adult Social Care.
* The Commissioning Officer- Learning Disability and Autism will be managed by the Learning Disability and Autism Commissioner and will work in tandem with the Commissioning Teams and other key roles within Slough Borough Council and with external partners and stakeholders.
Essential Experience Required
* Experience providing advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders is essential.
* Experience of current UK and EU legislation and policy relevant to the commissioning of adults’ and children’s services is essential.
Essential Qualification Required
* General education qualification is essential.
Additional information to note
* Working hours: 37 hours per week.
* The role is hybrid. You will be required to come into the Slough office two to three times a week#
* The role requires an enhanced DBS.
