As a Hot Work Sentry, you will ensure care and protection of the allocated contracts and support the professional delivery of the schedule. You will monitor all hot work areas to prevent fires, build-up of smoke or combustible materials, as well as ensuring a cooldown period is conducted at the end of a shift to prevent a fire, and that the area is cleared and cleaned of combustible materials.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provide a detailed shift handover and ensure all logs are checked and completed daily.
2. Ensure your presence on the job is fully covered whilst hot work operations are ongoing.
3. Communicate effectively through line supervisor and raise any concerns.
4. Participate in any communication activities through formal and informal channels on safety matters to ensure that there is a free flow of ideas.
5. Ensure that all health and safety regulations are known and strictly adhered to at all times.
6. Take responsibility for reviewing the safe system of work prior to the commencement of the work activity.
7. Take responsibility for ensuring that plant and equipment is maintained and fit for purpose.
8. Raise any concerns over health and safety breaches in accordance with company procedure.
The Person:
The ideal candidate for the role will have the ability to demonstrate a degree of judgement and discretion when assessing information and issues, as well as the ability to prioritise, delegate and work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. They will also have the ability to manage change and work collaboratively with others to produce innovative solutions.
Minimum Requirements:
* KAEFER Fire Awareness Training.
* KAEFER Hot Work Sentry Training.
* Flexibility to work outside of contracted hours.
* Security Clearance.
* Experience of working within the industrial services sector.
* Experience of working within the marine industry.
