The Mead Educational Trust is looking to appoint a centrally employed Attendance Officer to work alongside attendance teams across our growing number of schools. The core purpose of the role is to ensure that pupils are supported to attend Trust schools regularly. This role will be central to our work in reducing persistent absence and in ensuring that pupils at risk of exclusion remain engaged with education. The role will initially be deployed at Orchard Mead Academy, alongside the attendance team there. This post is 37 hours a week, term time plus 5 days only (39 weeks). This role requires a confident communicator, who is able to build relationships with families, pupils and external agencies as required, and who can manage their time effectively to meet deadlines. An example of other skills essential to the post are: Administration and ICT skills sufficient to perform the role Experience of Bromcom/CPOMS/Microsoft Office Knowledge and understanding of child attendance and welfare issues Experience of analysing and reporting data Experience of working to support young people’s learning Ability to present information effectively, verbally and in writing
As this role will be based across the Trust schools, a driving license and access to a vehicle is essential.
