Are you looking to showcase your great leadership skills? Are you interested in being a clinical support non-patient facing role?
As part of our growing service, we are looking for you to join our friendly team in our Endoscopy Unit at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust.
The main responsibility of this post will be as a Supervisor of the decontamination team, where you will be the first contact for the technicians. The duties will involve daily manual cleaning and processing of Endoscopes for the procedure rooms.
Other duties will include:
1. Cleaning and Decontamination: Thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting endoscopy equipment following established protocols and guidelines.
2. Inspection and Maintenance: Conducting regular inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure it is in optimal working condition.
3. Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of decontamination processes, equipment maintenance, and inventory.
4. Compliance: Adhering to all health and safety regulations, infection control policies, and quality standards.
5. Team Collaboration: Reading prepping lists, working closely with the endoscopy team to ensure timely availability of decontaminated equipment. You will also manage rota establishments.

This role can be physically demanding as you will be standing and moving across the site for your shift. It can be a challenging role but is very rewarding. You are one of the first parts in a patient's hospital journey, and the support the team provides is essential to continue with their care.
We provide you with a supportive work environment; training and supervision will be ongoing during the first 12 weeks of ‘in-house’ competencies, and you will be supported to enhance your leadership skills. You can also attend our Trust's Management essential programme.
If this sounds of interest to you, then we would love to hear from you; the role is ideal for someone who is interested in healthcare and would like to make a difference in a behind-the-scenes capacity.
