We have an exciting opportunity to join our existingpractice teams. We are looking to recruit GPA support for the Beckington FamilyPractice one of five practices that form Central Mendip PCN to work alongsideand complement the existing teams of GPs, Nursing and Healthcare Teams.

About us
Beckington Family Practice is an NHS GP practice based in Beckington with a branch surgery in Frome. BFP is one of 5 practices that make up Central Mendip PCN. Each practice employs a GP Assistant.
The PCN is located in Central Mendip with a diverse populationspread across town and rural locations, it has a population size of around 38,000 patients.
Currentlyled under the Clinical Director Dr Rebecca Duffy,with RuthWoodland as PCN Manager, the PCN is made up of:

As a PCN we are forward thinking, innovate and driven todeliver the best patient care for our population. This includes healthpopulation management, and this role ties in with supporting that and trackingthe improvements we can make to patients lives.
Our PCN staff team currently include clinical pharmacists,pharmacy technicians, physician associates, social prescribers, health andwell-being coaches, care co-coordinator, nurse associates, occupationaltherapists, mental health nurses, and paramedics.

Job responsibilities
The GP Assistantsrole may include any or all of the following:
Sort clinical post and prioritise for the GP interms of actions. Signposting documents to others such as clinical pharmacistetc.
Extract all information from clinical lettersthat needs coding and adding to clinical notes.
Arranging appointments, referrals, tests andfollow up appointments for patients
Preparing patients to see the GP, taking abrief clinical history and performing basic assessments in readiness for the GPappointment.
Testing urine, taking blood pressure, ECGs and phlebotomy.
Completing basic administration for the GP toapprove and sign documents such as insurance forms, mortgage, benefits agencyforms etc.
Explaining treatment procedures to patients.
Helping the GP liaise with outside agencies contacting the hospital getting hold of an on-call doctor on the phone toask advice or arrange admission while the GP can continue with theirconsultation(s).
Support the GP with immunisations/wound care.
