Job summary As GPAs will come from different backgrounds, different skill sets and their role as a GPA may differ significantly from a GPA in another Clinical setting, there are many factors to be considered by the Service The GPA will support the Clinical Teams smooth running of the service by performing the more routine administration and clinical tasks on behalf of the clinicians freeing up their time to focus on the patientAny remuneration or adaption of the job description will be at the discretion of the Service Manager and in agreement with the Human Resources and the GPA. The Role in brief: The GPA will be part of the SDS Care Home Service. The service covers 30 care homes, both residential and nursing across all areas of Birmingham from Sutton Coldfield to Handsworth to Sheldon and Longbridge. There are approximately 1000 care home residents, each of whom are registered with West Heath surgery, who we work very closely with. The team includes GPs, Nurse Practitioners and Admin. The GPA will be expected to work independently, travelling to care homes covered by the service and carrying out their duties as listed, returning to West Heath surgery, which is our base, as needed.
