Maintenance Fitter
Hours: 3 Shift Pattern - Days, Nights And Afters

Due to continued growth and expansion, we are currently looking to recruit a Maintenance Fitter to join our business in Chesterfield on a permanent basis. The starting salary is between £40,000 per annum and the working hours are on a 3 Shift Pattern - Days, Nights And Afters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Carry out regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs on heavy-duty machinery and equipment, including conveyors, hydraulic systems, and mechanical components.
2. Perform planned preventative maintenance to keep equipment in top working order, minimize breakdowns, and extend machinery life.
3. Utilize technical manuals, diagnostic tools, and troubleshooting skills to ensure prompt and accurate repairs.
4. Conduct basic welding tasks, such as minor repairs and fabrication of custom parts or structural reinforcements as required.
5. Ensure all welding and fabrication tasks comply with safety and quality standards.
6. Operate overhead cranes to safely move, position, and secure heavy equipment and materials as needed.
7. Perform risk assessments, use appropriate PPE, and follow safe working practices in accordance with company policies and legal regulations.
8. Maintain detailed maintenance records, including repairs, parts used, and issues identified.
Experience and Skills:
1. NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, or a related field.
2. At least 3-5 years of experience as a Maintenance Fitter, ideally within a heavy goods, industrial, or manufacturing setting.
3. Demonstrated experience in diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing heavy-duty machinery.
4. Proficient in identifying and repairing faults in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
5. Ability to perform basic welding and fabrication tasks to support maintenance and repair requirements.
6. Strong ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
7. Able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and lift heavy machinery parts as needed.
8. Ideally have experience with overhead cranes (training will be provided).
