Role purpose onefinestay is seeking a strategic and analytical leader to own and drive our organic search strategy, management, and execution. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver measurable improvements in organic search performance, increasing sessions and supporting overall business growth. As the SEO Lead, you will take charge of critical initiatives including on-page optimization, technical and content SEO, backlink strategy, and comprehensive audits. You will work closely with Product and Tech teams to implement medium- to long-term improvements, optimizing website architecture, structure, and instilling SEO best practices within the CMS. This role offers flexibility in its operation—whether through an hourly rate, fixed retainer, or fixed-term employment contract—provided the arrangement enables us to achieve our core commercial objectives. You will also have the support of internal teams or freelancers for content updates and bulk editing tasks. We’re looking for An experienced person who lives and breathes all things organic search. A person that appreciates the strength in having a broad mix of marketing referral channels (paid/earned/owned) to support business growth, and not being reliant on paid channels alone for growth. Somebody who can navigate the business on best practice and forward thinking with Google’s progression on organic search changes to put the business on firm footings. Can work well with pushing the agenda internally on SEO best practices and development on-site, collaborating with internal stakeholders to achieve the time and resources required to drive growth. Duties and responsibilities SEO Strategy & Execution: Own and lead the SEO channel, crafting both long-term and short-term strategies that drive growth. Develop, implement, and manage SEO strategies from the ground up to improve organic visibility and ROI. Build actionable roadmaps, ensuring the delivery of high-quality outputs within agreed timelines. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Partner with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Commercial Strategy, Content, Product & Tech) to align SEO initiatives with overarching business goals and multi-channel marketing objectives. Present insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders, driving discussions around technical and content-related SEO opportunities. Advocate for SEO best practices across local and global teams, fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders. Performance & Reporting: Lead regular performance reporting on SEO metrics, providing data-driven insights to inform strategic adjustments. Ensure reports align with business KPIs and adapt frequency based on organizational needs. Optimization & Innovation: Identify and resolve SEO issues that may hinder website performance, feeding these opportunities into the roadmap. Optimize service areas for maximum ROI and profitability while staying aligned with key business objectives. Stay ahead of industry trends, recommending new tools and resources to enhance performance and outcomes. Keyword & Content Strategy: Support keyword research to inform content strategy, campaign amplification, and internal queries. Ensure keyword synchronization across all marketing efforts to drive consistency and maximize impact. Tool Management: Leverage tools such as Ahrefs, Google Search Console, and internal data systems to monitor and improve performance. Evaluate and recommend additional tools or resources to enhance SEO efforts. Qualifications and experience Proven experience in developing and executing SEO strategies that drive significant business results. Strong understanding of technical SEO, content optimization, and keyword research. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and presenting to senior stakeholders. Proficiency with SEO tools such as Ahrefs, Google Search Console, and other relevant platforms. Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Has previous experience of working on global / localised SEO projects and setups (we plan on developing another language version in 2025, along with improved hreflang setup of content pages) Ideally has some experience working in the travel industry
