Nursery: Bright Horizons Rose Cottage Day Nursery and Preschool
Salary: £23,795 p/a - (£11.44 p/h)
Location: Haywards Heath, West Sussex
We are looking for a full time Early Years Apprentice to join our Bright Horizons Rose Cottage Day Nursery and Preschool, located on the outskirts of Haywards Heath making it a slightly more rural setting.
This nursery offers a large outside area, including a woodland area with animals – goats, chickens, ducks and guinea pigs. There’s also onsite parking and it’s conveniently close to the M23.

What you’ll be doing
11. Working as part of a nursey team looking after babies and children up to the age of 5.
12. Having daily adventures with our children through interactive play, activities, reading and helping them with their curious minds through the learning curriculum
13. Communicating with parents daily on their child’s activities
14. Provide a caring and supporting environment where the children feel safe and looked after
15. Creating play and learning opportunities that support the children’s learning
16. Promote and ensure child welfare, protection, health and safety and safeguarding procedures and policies are followed at all times
17. Working alongside your Assessor, including attending all training required for completion of your formal qualification
18. Having the ability to manage own time to complete required coursework in the given timeframe
19. Driving own development through the active participation in appraisals, one-to-ones, and requesting supervisions where required
20. Reflecting and proactively utilising new ideas and initiatives, including feedback, to enhance development and learning
What we’re looking for
21. Commitment to completing your Apprenticeship
22. Maths and English qualification GCSE Grade C / Level 4 or above, or Functional Skills Level 2. If not already held, a willingness to complete Functional Skills alongside apprenticeship.
23. Previous experience working with children beneficial, but not essential - Nursery Bank Staff, Nursery Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Nursery Practitioner, Early Years Educator, Nanny, Childminder or similar.
24. Passion for making learning fun and engaging for each child
25. Ability to build trust and strong working relationships with both colleagues and parents
26. Ability to use a variety of techniques to clearly and successfully communicate with both children and adults
