In this role, you will have the opportunity to operate a variety of data logging equipment such as deviation, gamma, downhole camera, and sonar, while analyzing mining data. The position involves performing quality checks on data, collecting composite ore samples, and maintaining the solids separation and uranium mass flow devices. You will be responsible for conducting QA tests, solving analytical problems, and ensuring safety procedures are followed. Additionally, you’ll assist with equipment location, create reports, manage inventory, and contribute to tool improvements. If you’re excited about this opportunity, we encourage you to apply!
Responsibilities include:
1. Analyse the cavity dimensional feedback data and upload the jet nozzle dynamic mining plan in the mining system.
2. Operate all electrical logging equipment including deviation, gamma, downhole camera and sonar tools, and perform quality checks on equipment and the data gathered.
3. Collect and record composite samples of ore production during mining and drilling.
4. Ensure proper operation of the solids separation system & Uranium Mass Flow device.
5. Ensure mining pipes are properly tracked in manual and electronic systems, and conduct QA tests prior to mining use.
6. Follow safe operating procedures & work instructions and complete required forms for record keeping.
7. Ensure drilling & mining techniques utilized are properly documented.
8. Collect records from the work site (Orano and contractor’s forms/daily logs).
9. Create daily reports, updates and recommendations.
10. Create purchase requisitions for parts required and track inventory of parts.
11. Assist with mine equipment relocation and operation.
12. Involved with compositing the results of the field program in a technical report.
13. Involved in tools improvement by proposing and suggesting modifications based on field results.
Work Location & Schedule:
1. McClean Lake Mine Site.
2. 14 days in and 14 days out rotating schedule, although adjustment of schedule may be required from time to time.
3. Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside of normal working hours may be required.
Pick-Up Points: Saskatoon, Prince Albert, La Ronge, Buffalo Narrows and the designated communities in the Athabasca region of Uranium City, Stony Rapids, Fond du Lac, and Wollaston.
Skills and Qualifications for the position include:
1. A diploma in Mine Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent, from a recognized institution.
2. Previous experience in drilling, industrial, agriculture or oilfield operations is an asset.
3. Experience in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and electronic systems.
4. Knowledgeable in borehole logging gamma, deviation, downhole camera and sonar.
5. Ability to understand engineering drawings on mechanical, hydraulic and electronic systems.
6. Experience working in remote and/or industrial locations is an asset.
7. Fluent in English, knowledge in reading German or Italian is considered an asset.
8. A valid class 5 driver’s license is required.
9. Familiar with AutoCAD and downhole logging software.
10. Excellent technical report writing skills.
11. Must be able to work independently in a remote location.
12. Able to communicate with personnel at all levels of action, including contractors, consultants, and drillers.
