This role will spearhead the development of a cutting-edge sensor and breath collection system, working hands-on in the lab to transform innovative concepts into market-ready products. Key Responsibilities: 1. Product Development: Drive the design, development, and optimization of a product-ready sensor and breath collection system. Utilize expertise in sensor/device development, protein applications, and biotech to solve complex technical challenges. Engage in hands-on laboratory work, including prototyping, troubleshooting, and system optimization. 2. Human Trials: Plan and execute the practical aspects of human trials in partnership with clinical collaborators and Universities under the guidance of the CTO. Ensure all activities adhere to ethical and regulatory standards. Analyze trial data to refine and improve product performance. 3. Collaboration and Leadership: Work closely with lab partners, vendors, and other company department leaders to align product development with market and commercial needs. Lead multidisciplinary teams, fostering a collaborative and dynamic environment. Act as a mentor to junior scientists and engineers, promoting skill development within the team. 4. Project Management: Develop and oversee project plans, timelines, and budgets to ensure milestones are met. Employ effective project management methodologies and tools. Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders. Key Features and Qualifications: Education and Technical Background: Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline is required; a master's degree is highly encouraged. Strong expertise in sensor/device development, with a solid background in protein applications and biotechnology. Programming skills are a plus, particularly for data analysis and system control. Familiarity with LabVIEW is beneficial. Experience: >3 years' experience leading a team and in product development required Demonstrated ability to manage and contribute to end-to-end product development, from concept to market-ready solutions. Knowledge of medical device standards and regulations is beneficial. Core Skills: Hands-on problem-solving approach, with the ability to thrive in a lab-based environment. Research-driven mindset with a passion for seeing projects through to completion. Self-starter with a proactive and adaptable attitude. Experience with microfluidics and materials science is a bonus.
